Abstract

PURPOSE: To raise dust collecting efficiency and to render the apparatus compact, by providing moving beds of small balls in concentric circular sections in spaces formed with a plurality of Venetian shutters, and introducing a dust-containing gas through the shutters and the moving beds.
CONSTITUTION: A dust-containing gas is introduced from nozzle 2 of main body 1 of beds, the dust is collected by passing the gas through lattices 5, 8 and primary, secondary beds 25, 26, and the gas is released from exhuastion nozzle 12. Beds 25 and 26 have concentric circular sections. Small alumina balls 27 are supplied from upper nozzle 13 into inner bed 25, allowed to flow down at a proper speed, and drawn out of outlet nozzle 18. Likewise in outer bed 26, small balls 28 are supplied from nozzle 19, and drawn out of nozzle 24. Heat expansion is absorbed by sliding nozzle sleeve 16 along sleeve 17, and sleeve 22 along main nozzle 23 in the lower end plate, and short-cutting of the gas or the like is prevented by arranging that any other opening has gas flow resistance higher than that of the bed layer.
