Abstract

PURPOSE: To readily remove the dust evenly deposited in the inside of catalyst beds by changing the exhaust gas flow passing through a plurality of the catalyst beds parallel-disposed in the exhaust gas pipeline through simple operation of the required dampers provided in the pipeline.
CONSTITUTION: A damper 2 is capable of changing exhaust gas flow in two directions. The exhaust gas flowed in one side channel 13 by said damper 2 flows in respective catalyst beds 8W10 and flows to the other side channel 13' as shown in the figure. Next, when the channel 13' side is closed and the channel 13 side is opened by a damper 7 followed by changing the exhaust gas flow to the other channel 13' by the damper 2, the exhaust gas passes in the direction opposite from said direction in the respective catalyst beds 8W10. Then, the dust having unevely deposited in the inside of the catalyst beds 8W10 may be readily removed, as a result of which it becomes possible for the catalysts in the catalyst beds 8W10 to provide the function of changing the harmful material in the exhaust gas to pollution-free material at always good efficiency over a long period of time.
