PURPOSE:To produce the magnetic recording medium superior in electromagnetic conversion characteristic, by installing the plate-form or bar-form material consisting of soft magnetic materials in the orientating magnetic field used conventionally to orientate magnetic particle components on the support material in a specific direction. CONSTITUTION:Plate-form or bar-form material 5 consisting of soft magnetic materials is arranged in the transverse direction of support material and in parallel with and closely to support material 3 in the gap or the part near this gap between permanent magnets or DC electromagnets 1 and 2, where the same polarities are opposite to each other, used for magnetic field orientation conventionally.
