Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to accurately measure the moisture content of crude oil or the like even if its specific dielectric constant changes, by using the first dielectric constant meter which measures the dielectric constant of the liquid being measured with its moisture unremoved and the second dielectric constant meter which measures the dielectric constant of the liquid whose moisture has been removed. CONSTITUTION:A duct 2 branched from the petroleum main pipe is connected to the inlet end of a sample inlet pipe 3 and a branch pipe 4, and to both the pipes the first dielectric constant meter 11 and the second dielectric constant meter 22 are connected respectively. In the first dielectric constant meter 11, crude oil is measured with its moisture unremoved, while in the second dielectric constant meter 22 measurement is performed with the moisture in the crude oil removed by a coalescer 16. These measuring signals are inputted to an arithmetic means 23, where the absolute quantity of the moisture contained in the crude oil is calculated by obtaining the difference therebetween and displayed on a displaying recorder 24.
