Abstract

PURPOSE:To delay ignition time to prevent knocking, by using an ignition advancement controller provided with a negative pressure port which is located upstream to a throttle valve and which communicates with two negative pressure chambers when the throttle valve is slightly opened. CONSTITUTION:When a throttle valve 17 is entirely closed, a negative pressure port 16 is located downsteam to the throttle valve 17 but another negative pressure port 20 is located upstream to the valve 17. When the throttle valve 17 is slightly opened to the first degree, the negative pressure ports 16, 20 are located upstream to the throttle valve 17. When the throttle valve 17 is further opened to the second degree, the negative pressure port 20 is located downstream to the throttle valve 17. Throughout the transient period when the throttle valve 17 is opened from the entire shut-off state to the first degree, no negative pressure is introduced into the two negative pressure chambers 5, 6 of a diaphragm unit 1 to delay ignition time to prevent knocking.
