Abstract

PURPOSE:To heighten accuracy through simple constitution, by providing a step on a lockup nut for securing a rod on a diaphragm and by providing a member which is brought into contact with the step to limit the displacement of the rod. CONSTITUTION:Negative pressure chambers 20, 22 are defined by a casing and diaphragms 16, 18. A rod 28 is secured on the diaphragms 16, 18 so that one end of the rod 28 is coupled to the movable base of the distributor of an internal combustion engine. Springs 36, 38 are provided to hold the rod 28 at a neutral point. The ignition time of the engine is advanced or delayed by negative pressure. A step 68 is provided on a lockup nut 52 for securing the rod 28 on the diaphragms 16, 18. The step 68 is brought into contact with the left end of a spring casing 30 to limit the rightward travel (s) of the rod 28. This results in simplifying the constitution and heightening the accuracy.
