Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a clutching device having a simple structure and an excellent maneuverablity by a method wherein the number of rotation of an engine is controlled to the prescribed value excepting in time of the accelerating operation of an accelerator pedal and the clutch is connected by putting a foot on this pedal and the clutching speed is controlled by the speed of the automobile.
CONSTITUTION: If, in a start, the engine 1 is started and a automatic manual change-over switch 37 is pushed on "automatic" (a), the number of rotation is controlled to the initial value. If the 1st gear is set in motion and the foot is put on the accelerator pedal 8, an accelerator switch 14 operates, a clutch 15 is engaged gradually and the automobile starts. If the pedal 8 is pushed down, the number of rotation of the engine increases and the speed of the automobile becomes faster. For shifting up, if the foot is separated from the pedal 8, the clutch 15 becomes free and the gear is changed and the pedal 8 is pushed again. When the automobile runs at a constant speed, one of constant speed presetters 29-1 and 29-γ is selected. At this time the clutch is not off even though the foot is separated from the pedal 8. This presetter is reset (c) by a brake 31. For shifting down, the conventional method is used by the accelerator pedal.
