Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a liquid level detector of a liquid vessel for vehicles which prevents the malfunction of a float switch by disposing a float chamber which is segments by a partition wall and has communicating holes in the lower part with a deviation from the center of the liquid vessel. CONSTITUTION:The bottom of an oil pan 3 of a motor bicycle is mounted with a liquid level detector 5 in the mounting hole 4 disposed to the front of a vehicle body 1 with a deviation from its center. The detector 5 constitutes a float chamber 24 by means of a partition wall 21 having small holes 26, 27, a cover 23 and a cover body 6 closing the mounting hole 4, and detects the liquid level in the float chamber by means of a float 17 having a magnet 18 therein and a reed switch housed in a hollow guide shaft. Since the detector 5 and the small hole 26 are disposed with the deviation, respectively, forward from the centers of the oil pan 3 and the float chamber, the liquid level fluctuations of the oil pan are not transmitted to the float chamber and the malfunction of the reed switch is prevented.
