PURPOSE:To make a display time of a slave time piece always coincide with a monitor display time by a method wherein the display time is counted through a time counting circuit to perform a digital monitor display and along with this, when an abnormality is generated in a driving pulse to driving a daughter time piece, a count is stopped. CONSTITUTION:A time counting circuit CT1 receives a clock pulse and counts a reference time and the time counting content is displayed through a display device DL1. Pulses from a pulse selection circuit H are converted into three phase pulses through a ring counter RC and coils l1-l3 are sequentially driven by means of driving pulses from a feeding out circuit A, and then, a display time on a display unit K is advanced by one second. A time counting circuit CT2 counts a time corresponding to a display time of a daughter time piece S to display it on a monitor display device DL2. When a short circuit trouble is generated in the coils l1-l2 of the daughter time piece S, a motion of a hand of the daughter time piece is stopped and at this time, the advance of time counting content of the time counting circuit CT2 is stopped, simultaneously, too.
