Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the generation of cavitation through regulatin of the rotational frequency of an inducer by controlling an impeller, two shafts of an inducer and the connecting force of a variable speed coupling by way of a control circuit.
CONSTITUTION: It is assumed that the rotational frequency of an impeller 2 does not change, while an output signal Hs of a pressure gauge 11 lowers with a drop in the suction pressure of a pump. In this case, as an output signal Hso of a funtion generator 13 into which an output signal N of a tachometer 12 is left unchanged, an output signal (Hso-Hs) of an adder 14 turns to positive value and outputted to an excitation voltage generator 10. The generator 10 outputs an increment excitation voltage proportional thereto to an excitation coil 8 of an electromagnetic coupling which is excited by the sum of an electromagnetic voltage V and a voltage ΔV. This strengthens the connecting force of the solenoid coupling 7 so much that the suction pressure of the impeller 2 rises and the rotational frequency of the inducer increases. Thus, the control of the revolution of the inducer 4 can reduce the cavitation thereby improving the efficiency of the pump.
