Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the starting property of the LPG engine by a method wherein the idling opening of a throttle valve is increased at the time of starting and the forcible opening of the secondary valve of an LPG regulator can be performed automatically by a diaphragm device.
CONSTITUTION: At the time of starting the engine, when an ignition switch 55 and a starting switch 56 are closed, a solenoid 52 for a solenoid valve 49 is fed with a current and a conduit 48 is communicated with a conduit 50. Accordingly, a pulsating negative pressure of cranking which appears at a negative-pressure port 51 is introduced into a diaphragm chamber 46 at the time of the starting, and a rod 44 is advanced and retracted through the movements of a diaphragm 45. The movements of the rod 44 are transmitted through Bowden cables 41, 42 to levers 33, 39, so that the idling opening of the throttle valve 4 is repeatedly increased and decreased in accordance with the pulsation of the negative pressure of cranking. Synchronously with this, the secondary valve 23 of the LPG regulator 7 is repeatedly opened and closed. As a result, a mixture having an air-fuel ratio required for starting the engine is supplied to the engine.
