Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve workability and lower the cost of the construction, by placing concrete base plates at the bottom of the sea and/or the lake along the shore line, and stacking the concrete blocks and concrete slabs alternately so that they reach the desired height.
CONSTITUTION: Concrete base plates 1 are placed at the bottom of the sea and/or lake along the shore line. On them are placed a number of concrete blocks 4 for dissipating waves. Further on the blocks are placed concrete slabs having holes for water passage. With such an arrangement, the base plate 1 and the upright wall 3a constitute a room 6, in which the wave energy is much attenuated by the blocks 4 with the remaining energy to be completely guided through the holes 5, thus the upward surging energy of the wave can virtually be dissipated. Upon the slab 5 are placed the concrete blocks 7 and on the blocks are placed the slab 8, thus creating the room 9 for wave dissipation. In this manner the blocks and slabs are stacked alternately so that they reach the height of the water level 3.
