Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce a wave dissipation block excellent in the wave dissipation effect with a simple construction for building a wave dissipation structure in revetments, quay-walls or the like with a concrete block having column-shaped members integrally connected being double crossed.
CONSTITUTION: Column-shaped combining members 3 and 4 of this wave dissipation block are arranged on column-shaped members 1 and 2 each leaving a distance of 1/4 from the end thereof. When the wave dissipation blocks are laid one upon another in a zigzag manner, the space between the column-shaped combining member 1 of one block and the column-shaped member 2 of another (the length between two spaces 13) becomes so constant that the wave dissipation rate can be constant wherever it stands. The combination of the convex part 6 and the concave part 5 prevents the deviation from the positioning at piling due to the force of wave. The groove 7 is provided to allow a trapping plate 8 to swing properly preventing wave from directly hitting the revetment or the like. With such an arrangement, the wave enters from front spaces 11 and 11 with a throttle mechanism when surging against a pile of blocks and then, is dispersed horizontally and vertically for dissipation.
