Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the power consumption for the cross connection converting device which flows the circulating current between two sets of converters, by stopping the circulating current when the load current becomes less than the prescribed level.
CONSTITUTION: The detection level of level detector circuit 12 is set to the fixed level. And it is supposed that converters 1-1 and 1-2 are controlled by load current control circuit 5 and circulating current control circuit 6 respectively. When the load current exceeds the prescribed level, the signals are transmitted from circuit 12 to circulating current control interruption circuit 13 and logic circuit 14. Circuit 13 applies the fixed bias value to circuit 6 via the output signal of circuit 12 to delay the ignition angle of converter 1-2 and also stop the circulating current. Circuit 14 memorizes the converter performing the circulating current control via the output of load current reference polarity decision circuit 11, and sends the gate block signal to converter 1-2 with an appropriate time limit via the output signal of circuit 12. In case the load current is less than the prescribed level, the output signal of circuit 12 is inverted with the output of circuit 13 turned to zero. Thus the block signal of circuit 14 is released to give the circulating current control.
