CONSTITUTION: Isobutylene is separated from a C4 mixture containing isobutylene, butene-1, and tubene-2, using a specific adsorbent comprising a synthetic zeolite containing 5W70mol% of Ag ions and ≤10mol% of Na ions based on the sum of K, Ag, and Na ions, and obtained by the complex ion substitution of an X-type synthetic zeolite with K and Ag. The zeolite containing K and Ag ions prevents the polymerization of butenes, and improves the adsorption selectivity of isobutylene to butene-1 and tubene-2.
