Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide the device which omits the members to become hindrances to around the point by installing a revolving shaft in parallel with the rotating axis of the earth, providing a square gear supported turnably about the point on its extension line and interlocking the reflecting mirror placed at the intermediate of the light collector and point.
CONSTITUTION: The shaft 1 parallel to the earth's axis is driven by a known method. A boss 17 and bracket 13 are held fixed to the shaft, on which a revolving motor 14 and guide plate 27 are placed. A gear 23 is revolved by the motor 14 and the square gear 24 intermeshed therewith is rotated about the point A. A mirror 7 is perpendicularly mounted to the rod 5 which is supported by the gear 24 ans support 12 by way of bearings 18, 19. To perform tracking through rotation, the motor 14 is stopped and the shaft 1 is rotated at the same speed (15° per hour) as the sun, then the solar light reflected by the mirror 7 is sent always in a fixed direction. In the case of tracking through revolution, the motor 14 is driven, then the gear 24 is moved by the revolution of the gear 23 and rotates about the point A, thus tracking to the change in the solar altitude depending upon seasons.
