Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare an azo lake pigment having uniform and high qualities, by supplying a reactor continuously and simultaneously with a solution containing a diazo compound and a lake forming agent and a solution containing a coupling component, and carrying out the coupling reaction in the reactor.
CONSTITUTION: A reactor is supplied continuously and simultaneously with (A) a solution or dispersion of a diazo component obtained by the diazotization of an amine of formula II [R is (non)substituted benzene- or naphthalene-ring having one or more -SO3H or -COOH], and a lake forming agent comprising a water soluble salt of Ca, Ba, Sr, etc., and (B) a solution or dispersion of a coupling component obtained by dissolving a compound III in an alkaline aqueous solution, and if necessary, adding a rosin soap or a surface active agent. The molar ratio of the coupling component to the diazo component is 1 to 1W1.2. The coupling reaction product is continuously taken out of the reactor to obtain the azo lake pigment of formula I.
