Abstract

PURPOSE: Using a culture bed made by mixing heat-fermented bagasses and cake obtained from compressed slurry of sugar cane, one of Homobasidiomycetidae in Basidiomycetes is advantageously cultured.
CONSTITUTION: Bagasse containing 1W4wt% of sugar which is obtained by compressing sugar cane is heat fermented and aged over 50°C for more than 5hr to give the heat-fermented bagasse. To the heat-fermented bagasse is added cake obtained from the compression slurry of sugar cane at a weight ratio of less than 1/2 on the solid basis. When needed, the mixture is combined with at least one selected from other nutrition sources and 40W80wt% of water to form the culture bed. One of Homobasidiomycetidae, e.g., Flammulina velutipes, or Fomes japonicus, in Basidiomycetes is inoculated and cultured.
