Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain novel miniaturized serial printer consisting of a limited number of component parts by means of single electric motor capable of character selection, printing, etc. instead of coils such as electromagnet, etc., with the assistance of special mechanical constitution of type ring, mask and carry mechanism.
CONSTITUTION: Electric motor 13 is caused to be turned in arrow direction A and motor pinion 15 attached on shaft 14 is caused to be turned in the same direction. This rotation is transmitted to clutch gear 18, causing selective gear 22 to be turned in arrow direction C through the intermediary of transmission gears 20, 21, clutch jaw 23 is engaged with the teeth of ratchet gear 24, causing the first and second type rings 27, 28 to be turned.
