Abstract
PURPOSE:To miniaturize an antenna shape by providing two antennae differing in opening length and crossing at right angles and by using the both for transmission and reception respectively. CONSTITUTION:Transmitting antenna 19 and receiving antenna 20 differing in opening length are provided crossing at right angles. The result of a comparison between beam characteristics of the antenna unit of the above-mentioned constitution and those of an antenna unit which alternates transmitted and received waves and has an equal opening degree is mentioned hereafter. Namely, beam characteristics in a far field are nearly equivalent mutually and those in a near field can be attained by smaller one than the antenna with the equal opening degree. Therefore, using the antenna unit formed in the above-mentioned way provides miniaturization of an antenna shape so as to obtain identical transmission and reception patterns in comparison with a conventional antenna unit.
