Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the utilization rate of quicklime by a method wherein exhaust gas from an incinerator is passed through an upper portion of a moving reaction layer, into which quicklime grains are filled, so that the exhaust gas flow crosses at right angles with the movig reaction layer, and exhaust gas is passed through the lower portion in the direction opposite to the exhaust gas.
CONSTITUTION: The both sides of a moving reaction layer 1, of which CaO grains are filled among support bodies 3 in stratiform and movement-possible shapes, are partitioned into an upper portion and a lower portion from a portion near a central portion, exhaust gas from an incinerator is passed through the upper portion 5 so that the exhaust gas cross at right angles with the reaction layer, and the exhaust gas from the incinerator is passed through the lower portion 6 in the direction opposite to an exhaust gas flow of the upper portion 5. When the exhaust gas is introduced from one side of the upper portion 5, the gas contacts with the CaO grains falling at low speed to produce CaCl2 and CaSO4. When the CaO grains reach the lower portion 6, the grains contact with the exhaust gas induced in the opposite direction, and CaO not reacted yet reacts with the gas. Thus, the segregation of minute particles is eliminated by an exhaust gas flow in the opposite direction, and the increase of pressure loss is prevented.
