Abstract
PURPOSE:To raise the temperature of upset parts to the specified temperature in the heating time approximately equal to the heating time of tubular body parts by providing heaters which heat the upset parts alone through direct blowing of high temperature gas to the specified positions of the heating zone in the heat treating furnace. CONSTITUTION:With all burners 4 for heating being held ignited and upset-part heaters 7, 9 being held driven 8, 8, long-length upset pipes 2 are subsequently conveyed onto guide rollers 5 through the charging port 3 of the furnace body 1. Next, these pipes 2 are placed onto stationary beams 3a by pushing up moving beams 6b from the lower side and are subsequently transferred in the furnace length direction to heat the pipes 2 integrally with the tubular body parts 2 and upset parts 2b by the burners 4. On the other hand, the atmospheric air in the body 1 is sucked by driving both circulating fans 9, 9 and is admitted into a nozzle header 10 and is further spouted upward from respective hot air blowing nozzle pipes 12. The atmospheric gas sucked through the pipes 12 is directly blown to the both upset parts 2b from the time when they reach near the pipes 12 of the devices 7 until they pass by there, whereby heating is accomplished.
