Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent leak generation when sealed with soft glass by coating the core metal of copper coated Fe-Ni alloy wire with Fe-Ni alloy.
CONSTITUTION: A 6.6mm diameter core wire of copper coated Fe-Ni alloy is inserted into a 50% Fe-Ni alloy tube of 20mm outside diameter and 6mm wall thickness, and they are cold drawn and hot drawn into a composite wire. Being applied cold drawing and intermediate annealing repeatedly, the composite wire is formed into a composite wire of 1mm diameter. By so constructing, the radial and the axial heat expansion coefficients of the core wire are 98×10-7 and 55×10-7cm/cm.°C which are close to that of the Fe-Ni alloy coating film, therefore, leak when sealed with soft glass can be prevented.
