Abstract

PURPOSE: To keep the frequency characteristic of the reproducing RF signal fixed independently of information recording positions by comparing DC components of an electric signal obtained from the recording face with a FM carrier level and by compensating the electric signal above by a control signal corresponding to thier difference.
CONSTITUTION: An electric signal (FM-modulated RF signal) obtained from a video disc by photoelectric conveter 1 is sent to FM demodulator 4 through RF amplifier 2 and equalizer 3 and is demodulated to take out recording information. In this case, only DC components of the electric signal above are detected by DC amplifier 6, and the FM carrier level of the signal which passed through equalizer 3 is detected by carrier level detector 5, and voltages VD and VC corresponding to respective values are inputted to comparator 7. Next, equalizer 3 is controlled by control signal Vf corresponding to difference between voltages VD and VC from comparator 7, thereby compensating the frequency characteristic of the electric signal.
