Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an excellent demodulated signal every time each video signal is reproduced by recording a reference signal for reproduction at the leading part of the video signal when recording the video signal on the optical disk in a pit line.
CONSTITUTION: A video signal is recorded on optical disk 1 in spiral pit line 2. The recording section of one unit of pit line 2, i.e., data block has reference signal 3 at its leading part and the video signal following as one unit such as picture signal 4. Reference signal 3 can be used as a calibration signal, i.e., the standard in demodulation of the video signal. Thus, the signals are constituted, and consequently when the video signal is demodulated from each data block, a DC drift component contained in the demodulated signal can be removed on the basis of the reference signal. Therefore, the excellent demodulated signal can be obtained on the basis of the reference signal in every reproduction of each video signal.
