Abstract

PURPOSE: To reproduce several kinds of TV systems, by easily matching the tape speed at recording and reproduction, by comparing the control signal frequency at recording with the reference frequency produced in VTR at reproduction to obtain discrimination signal.
CONSTITUTION: The unit consists of the reference oscillator 1 providing the diapason 1a for the first tape speed VP and diapason 1b for second tape speed VN, speed control circuit controlling the servo system, and frequency division circuit 3. Taking the frequency of oscillator 1 as 1867Hz when the speed VP is 28.33mm/s and as 2663Hz when the speed VN is 38.35mm/s, the frequencies are respectively 28.04 and 32.87Hz with 1/81 frequency division at the circuit 3. Thus, the control signal frequency recorded with the first system is higher than the frequency at the circuit 3 when reproduced as the speed VP, VN. Conversely, the control frequency recorded at the speed VN is always lower than the frequency of the circuit 3 when reproduced in VP or VN. With this system, the recording system can be discriminated by comparing the frequency at the circuit 3 with the reproduced control frequency.
