Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve combustion efficiency by a method wherein gas pressure discharged from an engine is reutilized to a necessary compressed air, which is blasted into the engine together with fuel.
CONSTITUTION: An air turbine 4 is provided in an exhaust pipe 2 provided through a discharge valve 3 of a cylinder 1. The air turbine 4 is driven with an exhaust gas pressure utilized therefor, and its power works to drive an air compressor 6 provided in a feed pipe 7 through a suitable transmission mechanism 5. A compressed air produced by the compressor 6 is fed in the cylinder 1 to combustion together with a fuel from a fuel feed pipe 9. Then, an air leading-in valve 11 is provided additionally to the cylinder 1 to eliminate effectively a negative pressure working at the time of non-output inversion of a piston 10, thereby driving an engine smoothly.
