Abstract
PURPOSE: To perform accurate measurements regardless of the right or left rotation of the moving target, by detecting the slits provided on the revolving disc arrayed at the prescribed interval by two detecters wherein the moving direction of the target body is measured by the overlapping of the forward and rear edge of the detected waves outputted from the 2nd detecter during the period of the sustained time of the detected waves outputted from the 1st detecter, and the moving distance is measured by the frequency of overlapping.
CONSTITUTION: On the disc 1, slits 2 are provided which are detected by detecters A.B. By detecting the change of the output level of the detecter A during the period while the detecter B detects its detected output, revolving direction of the disc 1 is known. Output of the photoelectric detecter A is delayed by the delaying circuit 31, and its input terminal and output terminal are connected to the input terminals of AND32 and NOR33 respectively. Output d of AND32, ourput e of NOR33 and output b of the detecter B are inputted to NOR34, and its output f is used as clock pulse for compensation to be applied to the reversible counter 35. Output c of the delay circuit 31 is inputted to the reversible counter 35 as up/down identification signal. Addition and subtraction at the reversible counter 35 of the clock pulse to be outputted at position t1 are determined by the level at the position T1, and changes of low → high level, and high → low level can be distinguished.
