Abstract

PURPOSE: To ensure high accuracy with a reduced number of marks by measuring and storing the time period, for which a mark angle is passed, and by reproducing the time interval stored until the subsequent mark arrives thereby to generate and use the pulses for the angular pulses of the required accuracy.
CONSTITUTION: The pulse signals dueing the slit angle passing time period of a rotating disc 2 generated by an optical sensor 4 are fed through a waveform shaping circuit 15 to an AND gate 18. Rising and breaking pulses are detected by detecting circuits 16 and 17 so that the time period for which the mark angle of the disc 2 is passed at the rotating speed at that time is measured and stored in an U/D counter 20. Immediately after the storing operations are finished, a flip-flop 23 is turned on by a delay circuit 22 to start the subtracting operation of the counter 20. At the instant when the counter 20 takes a zero value, zero pulses are generated by a zero detecting circuit 26. Then, those pulses can be used as the angular pulses of the required accuracy.
