Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance effect of sealing on divided surfaces and shorten a manufacturing process by dividing the inner circumferential part of a sealing slidable ring, starting from a notched part formed on said inner circumferential part.
CONSTITUTION: Notched parts 6, 6' are provided on the circumferential part of fixed sealing slidable ring 1 and jig 7 is inserted along the inner circumferential part of fixed sealing slidable ring 1. Material of larger heat expansion coefficient than that of fixed sealing slidable ring is employed for the jig 7. The sealing slidable ring 1 is divided by increasing temperatures due to the heating of jig 7 under this state. As a result, two divided surfaces corresponding to the given places are formed, resulting in the mutual adherance and fitting of divided surfaces as they are brought into contact with each other.
