Abstract

PURPOSE: To facilitate the mounting of metallic ring, by shrinkage fitting two layers of inner and outer metal rings having different thermal expansion coefficient on the side of electrode board of Braun tube.
CONSTITUTION: The cross-section of metal ring composed of outer metal ring 5 having lower thermal expansion coefficient and inner metal ring 6 having higher thermal expansion coefficient is formed as shown on the drawing b to fit with the shape of the portion where the stress of Braun tube 1 is applied. Then when the metal ring 4 is heated to 400W500°C, the cross-section of metal ring 4 becomes linear as shown on the drawing c thereby the insertion into the Braun tube 1 is facilitated. Consequently when it is cooled to normal temperature after insertion of metal ring 4, the metal ring 4 matches with the shape of side wall of Braun tube 1 thereby the slippage is prevented.
