Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the weather resistance of a heat transfer by thermally transferring a character or a pattern on an alumina or silica coating formed on a base by using a transfer foil containing sublimed coloring agent and then coating cholloidal alumina or silica containing water-resistant water-soluble resin on the transfer surface.
CONSTITUTION: Colloidal alumina obtained by the hydrolysis or the like of basic aluminum chloride or colloidal silica obtained by the hydrolysis or the like of water- glass is coated, dried and calcined on a base to thereby form an alumina or silica coating thereon. A character or a pattern is thermally transferred on the coating by using a transfer foil containing sublimed coloring agent. Approx. 0.05 by weight of parts (converted from solid content) of water-resisting water-soluble resin is added to 100 by weight of parts (converted from solid content) of colloidal alumina or silica by drying vinyl acetate-ethylene copolymer emulsion or adding hardener thereto, coated on the transfer surface, dried, and hardened to thereby form a hardening film thereon.
