Abstract
PURPOSE:To control the action of a foaming agent and obtain an excellent product, prescribing the viscosity of a synthetic resin which contains a prescribed quantity of the foaming agent, thermally plasticizing the synthetic resin and injecting it into a cavity. CONSTITUTION:To utilize the action of a foaming agent very much, the content of the foaming agent in a synthetic resin is set at 0.5-5% by weight. This allows the clamping force to a metal mold to be low. The melt viscosity of the synthetic resin in molding is set at 5X10<3> poise or less. A cavity is defined by the cooled metal mold. The cavity is pressurized by a gas before the synthetic resin is injected into the cavity. Thus. a foaming gas is prevented from escaping from the injected synthetic resin and the coefficient of utilization of the foaming agent is raised. The synthetic resin is injected by a quantity insufficient to fill the cavity. The pressurization of the former gas in the cavity is stopped during the injection of the synthetic resin or at the end of the injection.
