Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the title toner fixable under low pressure and exhibiting high fixability by using a substance containing an ethylene-acrylic acid copolymer as a core substance and an insulating substance as a shell. CONSTITUTION:Capsule toner is formed with an ethylene-acrylic acid copolymer having a density of about 0.93g/cm<3> or more and an acid value of about 10-700 as a core substance and an insulating substance such as styrene type resin, polyester resin or polyvinyl butyral as a shell. A polyolefin type resin such as polyethylene oxide may be mixed into the copolymer in an amount of 5-95wt% to the total amount of the core substance. A coloring substance can be added to the core substance or the shell, and magnetic fine particles may be contained in the core substance to give magnetic toner. The capsulation process is carried out by a known method such as spray drying or interfacial polymerization.
