Abstract

PURPOSE: To fill up the suction side of a pump with a liquid refrigerant and secure restarting by a method wherein a refrigerant circulating circuit is formed of a refrigerant-heating heat exchanger, service-side heat exchanger, and refrigerant circulating pump, and an on-off valve is fitted in a gas-side piping between the pump and the heat exchangers.
CONSTITUTION: A blower 9 operates interlockedly with an operating switch, a thermostat 10 causes a refrigerant circulating pump 3 and on-off valves 7 and 8 to operate, and a combustor 4 is fed with fuel. A liquid refrigerant is driven by the pump 3 into a refrigerant-heating heat exchanger 1, where it is evaporated, before flowing into a service-side heat exchanger 2 through a gas-side piping 5. The gaseous refrigerant then exchanges heat with room air blown from the blower 9, and is sucked into the pump 3 through a liquid-side piping 6. When room temperature has reached a set temperature, the thermostat 10 stops the pump 3, closes the valve 8 to cut off fuel supply, and closes the valve 7 to cut off the refrigerant circulating circuit at a point between the pump 3 and heat exchanger 1.
