Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the deformation of cores and cast the impellers having no thickness deviations by making combination use of an vane core whose outside circumferential part is cut and a vane core in which the above-mentioned cut portions are integrated to double the thickness.
CONSTITUTION: In the casting of the impeller to be performed by using a boss core 1, vane cores 2, 3 and outer molds 4, 5, the vane core 3 is formed to the shape obtained by cutting off the thin-walled outside circumferential part of a conventional core k and the vane core 2 is formed to the shape adding and integrating the outside circumferential portion cut from the above-mentioned core k to the outside circumferential portion of a conventional core j. More specifically, the entire vane core is constituted by fitting the core 3 of a small diameter to the core 2 of a large diameter (the same diameter as that of conventional ones) composed of the thick wall part 2a of the thickness twice that of conventional ones in the outside circumferential part, at the inside circumference of the above-mentioned thick-wall part 2a. The adoption of such a shape as the one mentioned above results in the improved rigidity of both cores 2, 3, obviates the deformation of the core during pouring and permits the production of the casting free from thickness deviations.
