Abstract

PURPOSE: To carry out a dehydration favourably by acting a roughly uniform press pressure over a whole zone of a press part by a surface contact between a flexible pressure hollow tube and non-expansion backup belt supported by a number of receiving rollers, said hollow tube being expanded by an introduction of pressure fluid.
CONSTITUTION: A space between a rotating drum 1 and each of receiving rollers 16 is such a distance that when the exterior circumference of the hollow tube 9 expanded by the introduction of pressure fluid is pushed and deformed by backup belts 16, a wide contact face can be obtained and a press part is provided over a whole zone of the reeled section. While a pressure from the hollow tube 9 is applied to the backup belt 15 pulled by feed rollers 18, 19, the backup belt 15 together with a holding belt 13 and a filter cloth belt 14 pulled by pull controlling rollers 20, 21 passes through the pressed part at a rate which is approximately the same as the peripheral speed of the exterior circumference of the hollow tube, and the sludge held between the filter cloth belt 14 and the holding belt 13 is dehydrated effectively during the passage through the pressed part.
