Abstract

PURPOSE:To make the accuracy of driving part the same and prevent the unevenness of losses by so constituting the switch that a reflecting mirror is rotated with respect to the optical axis direction of a plurality of self-converging type lenses installed with a multiplicity of optical fibers at one end. CONSTITUTION:The light signal 10 entered from the fiber 5 of the self-converging type lens 8 passes through the lens 8 and emits therefrom and the emitted light thereof is reflected by the reflecting mirror 9 which is inclined with respect to the optical axis. This light again passes through the lens 8 and converges to the fiber 1. Here, by rotating the reflecting mirror 9, the light entered from the fiber 5 may be connected to any fiber of 1-7. The light quantity losses of the optical fiber switch of such system largely depend upon the position accuracy of the mirror moved by a motor. Hence, if the reflecting mirror 9 is so mounted that the shaft of a pulse motor 14 aligns to the rotating axis of a plurality of switches, then the plural switches are simultaneously driven by one driving part and therefore their accuracies all become the same, thus the unevenness of the losses may be prevented.
