Abstract

PURPOSE: To print with stereoscopic feeling in good productivity by pressing and rotating a printing roller mounted with a low hardness rubber block or the like onto a plate-like article formed with rugged grain pattern on the surface thereof and printing pale at the raised portions and dense at the recess portions of the block by utilizing its elastic deformation.
CONSTITUTION: A relatively low hardness rubber block or resin block such as, for example, a rubber block 6 having 40° of hardness (by JIS K 6301) is mounted on a printing roller 3. Then, printing ink in an ink tank 1 is adhered through a transfer roller 2 onto the block surface 6 of the roller 3, and the block surface 6 is then pressed and rolled on a plate-like article 5 provided with rugged grain pattern 5 on the surface of the block surface 6 to thus transfer the printing patten onto the pattern 4 of the article 5. Thus, the raised pattern surface 6b of the rubber or resin block 6 is elastically deformed in response to the rugged surface of the rugged grain pattern 4 to thereby reduce the adhered amount of ink onto the raised portion as pale color and to increase the adhered amount of ink onto the recess portion to thus print dense with increased ink adhering amount onto the recess surface.
