Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce a molded chaff plate excellent in heat retaining, sound insulating, and flame retardant properties by adding a prepolymer having terminal isocyanate groups, and a hardening agent consisting of polyether polyol and amino alchol to chaffs and mixing.
CONSTITUTION: A prepolymer (component A) having terminal isocyanate groups is prepared from a polyether polyol having two or more, preferably two to four active hydrogen groups and an organic polyisocyanate having two or more isocyanate groups, such as tolylene diisocyanate. The component A and 20W40pts.wt. of a hardening agent consisting of 100pts.wt. of polyether polyol having two or more active hydrogen groups and 20W100pts.wt. of amino alcohol (e.g. diethanolamine) are added to 100pts.wt. of rice chaffs and/or wheat chaffs, mixed and molded under a pressure of 20W60kg/cm2 at a room temperature to 180°C, whereby the two components are mixed at a ratio of the isocyanate to the active hydrogen groups (NCO/ OH) ranging 0.7W2 in the component A and the hardening agent.
