Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the local stretch, by cooling with the colling medium the steel strip along its breadth in which the local stretch is apt to cause, on the feed side of the rolling mill. CONSTITUTION:The cooler B is installed on the feed side of the rolling stand. The blowing nozzle 10 for blowing dehumidified air is connected to the cooling medium storage bomb through the tubing 11. The pressure gauge 12 and the blowing pressure regulating valve 13 are attached to the tubing 11; the blowing rate of the cooling medium is adjusted by changing the opening of this blowing pressure regulating valve 13. The shaft 14 is laid across the breadth of the cold rolled steel strip 1; the nozzle bed 16 is supported by the shaft 14 and the screw shaft 15. The nozzle 10 is being rigidly fixed to the nozzle bed 16. The handle 17 is attached to one end of the screw shaft 15; by turning this handle 17, the nozzle 10 can be freely moved along the breadth of the steel strip 1. According to this constitution, the cooling mechanism can be quickly located at the position possible to cope with variations in the material property, shape, breadth, etc., of the cold rolled steel strip.
