Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable to produce columnar matters having a large ratio of length to diameter, by applying a compressing force in the radial direction of the matters, when manufacturing columnar matters such as crankshaft by sintering and forging green compact moldings.
CONSTITUTION: When manufacturing machine parts such as crankshafts from inexpensive materials such as cast ion powder by green compact compression, forming, sintering and forging, first green compact moldings of crankshafts are manufactured. In this case, crankshafts are formed by means of side dies 6, 6' disposed in parallel configuration and pressurizing dies 7, 7' designed to apply compressing force P in the radial direction to the material cast iron powder. Planes 8, 8' 8" are formed by side dies 6, 6', and 9, 9' are shoulder parts formed in the upper and lower end parts of 8, 8', 8", which intersect roughly orthogonally with planes 8, 8'. In this constitution, by applying the compressing force in the radial direction of crankshaft, compressing force is applied uniformly to each part. Therefore, green compact compression of moldings having an extremely large ratio of length to diameter may be easily done.
