Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable to operate gas turbine at a maximal efficiency independently of the level of load, by detecting actual efficiency through measurement of fuel flow rate and detection of the output of generator, and adjusting inlet guide vanes of the gas turbine to bring the actual efficiency nearer to the target value of efficiency.
CONSTITUTION: Maximal efficiency at each load region is detected by output con- verter 14 of generator and function generator 15, and actual efficiency is detected by the output converter 14, fuel flow rate converter 16 and function generator 17. Further, position signal of inlet guide vanes is produced by calculating deviation between the aimed value of efficiency and the actual efficiency by means of proportional integrator 10, and higher signal of the position signal and signal from lower-limit position setting means 18 is selected by higher-signal preceding circuit 19. In operation, position of the inlet guide vanes is controlled through proportional integration of the deviation between the value selected by the circuit 19 and the actual position of inlet guide vanes. With such an arrangement, gas turbine can be operated at its possible maximal efficiency in any load region of gas turbine.
