Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance dust collection efficiency while effecting simultaneous removal of harmful gas and dust in smoke cleaning unit by combining an electrostatic fine dust collector and fluid contact shelf.
CONSTITUTION: Waste gas which contains harmful gas and dust is charged from the inlet pipe 2 into the smoke cleaning unit 1. The gas changes its flow direction upward on water sump 3, and contacts cleaning liquid supplied from the duct 8 on the gas-liquid contact shelf 4, where harmful gas and coarse dust are removed. Very fine dust which includes water has low electric resistivity is sent between the dust collect electrodes and discharge electrodes 6, and collected by the collect electrodes 5. The cleaned gas is discharged from the outlet pipe 7 outside. The collector electrodes enhance their efficiency by becoming wet with mist of cleaning liquid coming from shelf 4.
