Abstract

PURPOSE: To facilitate transfer to the adjacent roller in a magnetic roller machine to remove metal powder from liquid by a mechanism wherein the rotational centers of magnet-attached inner cylinder and nonmagnetic outer cylinder are eccentrically arranged, and both cylinders are rotated in the same direction.
CONSTITUTION: The weakest magnetic force (MF) section on the surface 4-1 of outer cylinder of the first drum 4 is arranged to near the strongest magnetic force section on the surface 5-1 of outer cylinder of the second drum 5. The so arranged drums are placed in oil tank 6 and outer and inner cylinders of both drums are rotated in the same direction at about the same speed. Cutting oil 10, for example, is charged from oil trough 7 into the oil tank 6, passes between the drums. The metal powder is attracted by the stongest magnetic force section, transferred by the drum upward, where magnetic force is weakest. There, metal powder is attracted by the strongest magnetic force of the upper drum 5. Similarly, metal powder is removed from the weakest magnetic force section of the second drum by scraper 9.
