Abstract
PURPOSE:To secure the selection of the disk through some contrivance applied to the optical system and without moving the disk circuit or the head up and down, thus increasing the speed for writing and reading to/out the disk. CONSTITUTION:Disk pack 20 is formed through the unified structure of plural units of disk 21 and capable of the both-surface recording to be rotated with rotary servo motor 22. At the same time, a pair of movable optical heads 23 are provided by holding the disk between and moved up and down via head shift motor 29 to select an optional disk. And fixed mirror group 30 is located at the positions each where the length of the optical path conversion circuit comprising rotary mirror 28 and mirror group 30, and also the angle of mirror 28 is varied so that the optical path may be turned toward the selected disk. In this way, actuator 43, the disk circuit and the light path conversion optical system can be fixed, and only the optical head is shifted to select the disk. Thus the speed can be increased for both writing and reading.
