Abstract
PURPOSE:To realize uniform acceleration-cooling without causing extreme cooling phenomenon on the plate end parts, by reducing the quantity of cooling water in the end parts in the plate breadthwise direction and longitudinal direction, when cooling high temperature sheet objects such as hot rolled steel plates from both face and back sides while moving reciprocally. CONSTITUTION:A high temperature sheet object, such as a hot rolled steel plate 1 is reciprocally moved with respect to the line, and cooling water is injected from an upper header group 2 and a lower header group disposed in the direction vertical to the moving direction of the steel plate 1. Thus, the steel plate 1 is cooled. In this case, the quantity of cooling water supplied in the central part of the steel plate 1 is made larger than that supplied in the end parts in the breadthwise direction and longitudinal direction, and the upper head group 2 is moved reciprocally in the plate breadthwise direction by means of rotatable eccentric cam 10 and other parts.
