Abstract
PURPOSE:To change a magnetic field in strength and direction by times by providing a magnetic field generator which forms a magnetic field in an electric discharge machining area. CONSTITUTION:Both a machining electrode 1 and a workpiece 2 are faced to make a clearance for which pulses are supplied from a power supply 3 to discharge for machining. Electrode coils 4, 5 are located to form magnetic fields in a machined area. The coil 4 generates a magnetic flux toward the electrode 1 and the workpiece 2 facing to each other and the coil 5 forms a magnetic flux right-angled with it. An exciting circuit contains a source 6 for exciting coils 4, 5, where switches 7, 8 are respectively included. Coils 4, 5 are selected to excite by turing on or off those switches. A timing device 9 such as a multivibrator puts out pluse signals to those switches 7, 8 on or off.
