Abstract
PURPOSE: To absorb the thermal contraction and expansion of a superconductive rotor at torque tube cryogenic cooling time by providing a thermal deformation absorbing tube between the torque tube and the shaft of the superconductive roter.
CONSTITUTION: A superconductive rotor consists of a cylindrical torque tube 6 filled with cooling medium, a superconductive coil 2 arranged around the tube 6, and a shaft 12 for supporting the entire torque tube containing the coil 2 at the end of the rotating axial direction. Thermal deformation absorbing tubes 10 are inserted between the both ends of a low temperature damper 9 for surrounding in high vacuum the tube 6 and the both ends of room temperature casing 11 mounted with the shaft 12. The tubes 10 use special alloy having preferable reversible shaping effect depending on the temperature for the portion where the cryogenic to room temperature distribution is axially treated at one of both ends of the tube 6. Accordingly, it can provide the superconductive rotor which can absorb the thermal contraction and expansion of the rotor at cryogenic cooling time.
