Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent breakage of the collector due to thermal expansion and redue the danger of breakage of the collector due to external shocks during the handling of the collector by a method wherein pleates having a diameter periodically varied along the axis of an inner pipe of a double-walled vacuum pipe are provided at one end part of the inner pipe.
CONSTITUTION: The pleats 14 having the diameter periodically varied along the axis of the inner pipe 12 of the double-walled pipe are provided at one end part of the inner pipe 12. Since the pleats 14 are provided only at the one end part of the inner pipe 12 and the inside diameter of the pipe 12 is reduced only at the one end part, the width of a heat-collecting plate 15 inserted in the pipe 12 must be reduced at only one end part thereof. Accordingly, only a tiny reduction in the area of the heat-collecting plate 15 capable of being inserted in the pipe 12 is caused by providing the pleats 14.
